An opportunity to contribute
The Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes (LCGM) Project aims to conserve and enhance the grazing marshes so that they can be understood and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike as well as future generations. As part of this initiative Heritage Lincolnshire are undertaking a heritage landscape assessment on behalf of the LCGM project.
The Coastal Grazing Marshes stretch south from Grimsby to Gibraltar Point and include the low ground between the coast and the Wolds. For the purposes of the current heritage study we are focussing on three target areas: Salfleetby, Anderby and Burgh le Marsh. As well as an assessment of the historic places and archaeological sites within the target areas the study includes the cultural heritage of the Grazing Marshes.
We would like to hear about your memories of how life used to be in the Marshes, how the countryside looked and how it has changed. People who live and work here or are visitors to the Grazing Marshes can contribute to the project and help promote and conserve the heritage of the this special historic landscape by sharing your stories and views on the past or present heritage and landscape of the Marshes.
