About the Project

Background

(R Wardle)
The Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes Partnership Project is being developed - in consultation with farmers/landowners, the local community and organizations with vested interest - to protect, maintain and enhance the key features of the area and secure their sustainable management into the future.
Aims
The whole of the Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes area covers about 90,000 ha. It would be impractical to try and cover this area in one single project. Therefore, 7 target areas have been identified as priorities, which, together cover an area of 7,500 hectares.
Funding
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a £49,600 grant to help safeguard the future of the Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes. The funding is national recognition of the importance of the area and will be used for gathering evidence in support of a major £1.7 million Landscape Partnership scheme.
Project Partners
The Lincoln Coastal Grazing Marshes Project has been developed by a Project Partnership. The Partnership brings together interested parties from local authorities and agriculture, environment, conservation and heritage sector bodies.
